When I train my thoughts can sometimes get pretty raw. For example, I had 3 hours of training today. An hour swim and 2 hours on the bike. Today on the bike I started thinking about my blog. This is about an hour into my bike which was a pretty tough ride. Here’s the potential problem. What I think about in the middle of these workouts, when I’m physically exhausted, may not be what I really think when it’s all said and done but I can promise you it’s what I’m thinking about and what I’m genuinely feeling in the moment.
So I started thinking. . .this could be fun. I could write one blog a week that is the post workout comment. It cannot be held against me long term. As I said, when the adrenaline wears off it’s probably not precisely how I feel but it’s real at the time.
Today, you would have gotten something along the lines of. . . “So you say it’s not working out for you? It’s probably your fault. If you’re someone who walks around saying it’s NOT your fault. . then it’s DEFINITELY your fault!!!” “Life is about priorities. You say you don’t have time? Yes you do. You have time for what you make time for.” You know, gentle, understanding, compassionate thoughts like that.
Maybe I’ll sit on this idea for a while. It will probably get me in trouble.
Have a great weekend. See you Monday.
